The Darla Fund

The Darla Fund

In 2022, we were asked to help a sweet pup named Darla, who was surrendered to Columbia Animal Services with an injury that was more severe than their resources could handle. We realized that cases like hers happen far too often, and decided to name our emergency medical fund for shelter animals in her honor. The fund now remains available year-round, thanks to the kindness of our friends like you who also believe that every animal with a treatable medical condition deserves a chance.

You might expect that pets like Darla wouldn’t get a second thought when it came time to make the difficult decision about how to use shelter resources. But Columbia Animal Services is committed to finding a way to help her. We are too, and we hope you’ll join us.
